The Albany Street Bridge is a good place to start with Highland Park. Built in 1892 as a seven-span stone arch roughly 595 feet long, it carries Route 27 and County Route 514 across the Raritan River from New Brunswick, and a twelve-span stone railroad bridge from 1902 stands beside it. The borough grew 7.8 percent between the 2010 and 2020 censuses, from 13,982 to 15,072. Highland Park has long been a bedroom community for people working at Rutgers and Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick.
Highland Park is compact: 15,072 residents in the 2020 census on 1.83 square miles, bordered by Edison, New Brunswick and Piscataway. Route 27 runs along Raritan Avenue for about a mile and a half through downtown, splitting the borough into a north and a south side between Adelaide and Fifth Avenues. Woodbridge Avenue (County Route 514) heads off to the southeast. Train riders use New Brunswick or Edison stations, and local NJ Transit buses 810 and 814 serve the borough. River Road, Duclos Lane and Cedar Lane are the county roads that fill in the rest of the map.
The named sections are few and easy to use on a page: Livingston Manor, a historic district, plus Orchard Heights, Raritan Park Terrace, Riverview Terrace and the Viehmann Tract. A borough this size does not need pages for each, but a site that mentions the ones a business serves reads more local than one that says only “Highland Park.” The Livingston Homestead, a National Register property, and the Reformed Church of Highland Park are long-standing local landmarks. Highland Park High School and the Greater Brunswick Charter School give the borough its daily rhythm of school-run traffic.
As of October 2026 the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs lists about 35 active home improvement and electrical contractor licenses with a Highland Park mailing address. That is a small pool, and businesses from New Brunswick and Edison can serve the borough too, so the goal is to be easy to find on both sides of the river.
KMC Spark builds the site, the local pages and the request form for service businesses covering Highland Park and its neighbors, and we start with a free consultation. Tell us which towns you take jobs in and we will say plainly where to begin.
