Woodbridge Township is one municipality with a long list of mailing addresses, and most of them are not Woodbridge. Iselin, Colonia, Avenel, Fords, Sewaren, Keasbey, Hopelawn and Port Reading are all part of the township, along with Woodbridge proper, and a customer in any of them is likely to type their own section into a search before they type the township. The township lists 22 communities in all, including Menlo Park Terrace, Hazelton, Ostrander and Shore View.
The township is large: 103,639 residents in the 2020 census and about 24.6 square miles, bordered by Carteret, Edison, Perth Amboy and Sayreville in Middlesex County, by Clark, Linden and Rahway in Union County, and by Staten Island across the Arthur Kill. Some of the heaviest through-traffic in the county crosses it. The New Jersey Turnpike has Exit 11 here, the Garden State Parkway runs through on exits 127 to 132, and U.S. Routes 1 and 9 plus Routes 27, 35, 184 and 440 add to the mix. The Driscoll and Edison bridges carry traffic over the Raritan River to Sayreville.
Rail adds another layer. Metropark, in Iselin, is a stop on NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor Line and on Amtrak, while Avenel and Woodbridge stations sit on the North Jersey Coast Line. Woodbridge Center, with about 1.6 million square feet of retail space, is a regional destination in its own right, and Merrill Park, the Middlesex Greenway and the Ernest L. Oros Wildlife Preserve give the residential side some green edges, with Heards Brook Park and the 40-acre Woodbridge River Park among the smaller ones.
We do not quote a contractor license count for Woodbridge. The state’s licensing records file most of these businesses under Iselin, Colonia, Avenel, Fords and the other mailing names, so a Woodbridge-only tally would undercount badly and tell you little. The practical point is the same, though: a business that serves the township needs a site that uses those names, because that is how the township’s own residents describe where they live. A business based in Fords may serve Iselin and Sewaren as readily as its own street, so the site should list the sections it covers rather than lean on one township name.
KMC Spark builds the site, the local pages and the request form for service businesses covering Woodbridge and the towns around it, and we start with a free consultation. Tell us which sections you work in and we will say plainly where a new site or a tune-up would help most.
