Manville is named for the Johns-Manville Corporation, whose large plant shaped the borough, and it was incorporated in 1929. It is 2.45 square miles with 10,953 residents in the 2020 census, set between the Raritan and Millstone rivers and bordered by Bridgewater, Franklin Township and Hillsborough. The Manville school district runs Weston Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Alexander Batcho Intermediate and the high school, so for many families the borough’s identity is closely tied to those buildings and to streets they have known for decades.
Main Street, which is County Route 533, is the borough’s commercial street. In 2000 about 23 percent of residents reported Polish ancestry, the second-highest share in New Jersey among places with at least 1,000 people. The sections have their own names: Lost Valley in the east between the two rivers, the Claremont development and the Rustic Mall area. Three freight lines meet at Port Reading Junction, and the Rustic Mall area is the borough’s other commercial pocket beside Main Street.
The rivers matter as much as anything. Manville has flooded more than once, including Tropical Storm Doria in 1971, Hurricane Floyd in 1999, a 2007 nor’easter and Hurricane Ida in 2021, when the Raritan reached a record 27.66 feet. Lost Valley is the part most often named. A trades business that repairs, rebuilds or waterproofs knows this is a local subject, and it is worth saying so plainly if that is your work.
As of October 2026 the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs lists about 60 active home improvement and electrical contractor licenses with a Manville mailing address. That is a small pool, so a customer here is usually choosing from a short list, and a good listing and a clear site can matter more than volume. Reviews carry unusual weight in a borough like this. Many customers know someone who has hired the business before, and they check the reviews to confirm what they were told. A handful of recent, specific reviews on the Google profile, matching the information on the site, is more convincing than a long page of general claims.
KMC Spark builds the site, the local pages and the request form for service businesses covering Manville and nearby towns, and it starts with a free consultation. Tell us which neighbors you work in, and which languages your customers use, and we will say plainly what to build first.
