Berkeley Heights has a downtown along Springfield Avenue, a train station on NJ Transit’s Gladstone Branch with service toward Hoboken, Newark Broad Street and New York Penn, and an unusual cast of named places around them: Free Acres, Feltville (the Deserted Village), Benders Corners, Glenside Park, Stony Hill and Union Village. Several of those are names residents use for where they live.
The township covers 6.26 square miles and had about 13,300 residents in the 2020 census. Interstate 78 runs through it along with Springfield, Mountain, Snyder, Plainfield and Park Avenues. Part of the Watchung Reservation, including Lake Surprise and Feltville, is within its borders, as are the Passaic River Parkway and Columbia Park, the township’s largest municipal park. Governor Livingston High School and Columbia Middle School are the public schools most families know. Employers with offices in the township include Nokia (Bell Labs) and L’Oreal USA.
It borders New Providence, Mountainside, Summit, Scotch Plains, Chatham, Watchung, Warren and Long Hill. As of October 2026 the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs lists about 25 active home improvement and electrical contractor licenses with a Berkeley Heights mailing address. That is a small pool, and a good part of the work in town is likely done by crews from the towns around it.
With so many named areas, searches can be quite local. Someone in Glenside Park may describe the area differently than someone near Stony Hill, and a customer across the line in Summit or New Providence may want a business that also covers their town. A site that names the areas you really cover, keeps its Google Business Profile aligned with that and gives people a short way to send a request meets those searches without exaggerating. With a station on the Gladstone Branch and I-78 close, many households commute, and people in that position often look for a business in the evening from a phone, with a plain question about who can come out and when.
KMC Spark builds the site, local pages and request form for service businesses covering Berkeley Heights and its neighbors, and we start with a free consultation. Tell us where you actually work and we will say plainly where a new site or a tune-up would help.
