Do I Need a Website If I Have a Facebook Page?

For most local service businesses, yes: a Facebook page is useful but it is not enough on its own. You do not own your Facebook page, and a website you own is where Google, Maps and AI assistants can send people who are searching for someone to hire.

What a Facebook page does well

  • It is free and quick to set up.
  • It is a good place to show recent jobs and keep in touch with past customers.
  • It collects comments and reviews.

What it cannot do

  • You do not own it. Facebook controls the rules, the layout and who sees your posts, and it can change them or restrict your page at any time.
  • Search visibility is limited. A page cannot give you a dedicated page for each service and each town you serve, written the way Google and AI assistants read pages.
  • Fewer ways to turn a visit into a job. A website can offer an estimate form, click-to-call, scoring of each lead and a clear next step.
  • Weak measurement. Your own site can show you where leads came from. A page shows you Facebook’s numbers.

The best setup

Use both. Post your jobs on Facebook and Instagram, and send people to a website that you own, with your services, towns, photos and reviews, and a clear way to ask for an estimate. KMC Spark LLC’s Grow plan can write and schedule Facebook and Instagram posts for you to approve, and a website you own gives those posts somewhere to lead.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Facebook page a substitute for a website?

For most local service businesses, no. It helps people who already know you, but a website you own helps new customers find you through search.

Will customers find me on Google with only a Facebook page?

Sometimes. A Facebook page can appear in search results, but you do not control the title, description or content Google shows for it the way you do on your own site, and you cannot give it a page for each service and town people search for.

Can I use Facebook and a website together?

Yes. Post on Facebook, send people to your site and keep both consistent.

How much does a simple website cost?

Our monthly plans for upkeep and growth start at $199 a month, and a website build is priced on a free 30-minute phone call, with the number in writing.
